Match Report:

Boreham went to HP with a depleted team. I managed to get 9 players and 1 person whohad never played before to total 10. Boreham won the loss and for some bizarre reason elected to field with only 9 players to start the match. Henry Clark 50*, Elliot Moore 51*, Manoj Tripathi 43 and Trevor Lenoir 32 being the main scorers with the bat it was Eddie Extra taking centre stage being 107 not out. HP finished up on 328-7. Yaqub Akbar 2-48 and el capitan Jamie Baines 2-64 were the pick of the extra infested bowlers.

A special mention to Emily Thorpe who was plucked from an afternoon in the club house with dad to an afternoon of chasing the ball around and being our best fielder by far... even bowling a tight 0-23 of 4 overs.

Tea ensued and it was a blinder.... I didn't get much of it as I was too busy redressing my ankle.

With the batting order written in the book and the coloured pens at the ready I settled down for I hoped what would be a longish innings scoring both books... well that didn't happen as two of our top four batsman getting out with just 58 runs on the board. Liam Watts hitting 29 for the 4th wicket steadied the boat slightly but we were always sinking like the titanic after he was caught leaving us on 81-4. We only scored 18 runs there after with Emily Thorpe getting 5 and Owen Cooper getting 9 to take us to 99-7. The last two batsman including myself who hobbled out to the crease scored 0 between us in 3 balls. Oh well.... 99 all out. Trevor Lenoir bowling 3.5-1-16-5 that cleaned us up at the end.

HP were by far the better side on the day and we new it would be hard having such a lack of players on the day. It was a nice day out to HP as they played the game in the right spirit even though it was basically a non contest. Thankyou to HP for letting us borrow Emily too, person of the match goes straight to her.
