Match report Another Days cricket that defies my belief in Human Nature, We arrived at Galleywood in good time and we were all in good spirits with a solid bowling line up with Mick Peter Ryan And Charlie we struck yet again early but some dogged resistance from Galleywood highest score 99 and then the heavens opened and we had an early tea the covers were put on and we waited
Eventually after 2 hours the rain stopped and the covers were taken off but water had got underneath the covers and there were several damp patches on the wicket
But Galleywood in there hast to get us in covered the area in front of the stumps with Sawdust
I spoke to George there skipper and said that you cant do this it is against the LAWS OF THE GAME as laid down not by Boreham CC but the MCC.
There were several pitch inspections from the entire community of Galleywood saying that the track was playable I still insisted that it wasn't fit to play as you have changed the playing surface
By now it is 7.30pm and he is still wanting to play And then the Almighty decided to Deluge us with a rain shower of biblical proportions and now through a third party as he decided that I was not worthy of being spoken to they called the game off and the match was Abandoned

I would like to thank my entire team for sticking with me in this decision I felt very intimidated in the end as the whole club including 1st team players were making all kinds of comments towards us We beat a hasty retreat to a local watering hole and then Laughed about our Galleywood Adventure
