Havering-atte-Bower v Boreham & Roxwell Cricket Club 1st XI on Sat 21 May 2005 at 14:00
Boreham & Roxwell Cricket Club Lost (Unknown)
Match report
Confusion rains over this fixture as there is no record of it in the Boreham score book but a player report has surfaced with one very obvious and potentially a mind blowing question about it...
DID SPENCE REALLY GET 6 WICKETS??
Time will tell if the result ever materializes from past history. Watch this space!!
FOLLOWING IS THE ABOVE MENTIONED RATINGS REPORT:
A disappointing defeat against a poor side. A number of people need to have a good look at themselves in the mirror. We can not drop 9 catches and expect to win.
Please let me know (honestly) if anyone scored any sixes in the first 2 games.
C Harrison 7 - 3rd consecutive half century contributed to an excellent opening partnership. Boreham's most consistent batsman for the past few years. Dropped 2 difficult chances.
M Costa 8 - Entertaining and at times brutal innings of 86 demonstrating his hunger for runs. Looks to be approaching his best form. Kept tidily but dropped vital catch.
N Hadgraft 5 - Not his best game. Took plenty of stick with the ball although unlucky not to get a wicket or 2. Impatient with his batting when the team needed him to steady the innings. 2 good catches and fielded well.
D Grice 6 - Fielded well and tried hard with the bat playing the anchor role. Unfortunately nobody stayed with him. Probably because he ran them all out.
J May 5 - Not his best day. Probably tinkered with the batting order too much.
B O'Donoughue 6 - Fielded well and took his maiden catch. Yet to repeat his sensational innings at Great Wakering last year. Was it a flash in the pan?
D Dye 4 - Disappointing game for the big fella. Dropped catch and a golden duck.
M Flint 6 - Promising debut. Bowled ok although a bit short at times. Looked liked he could be a useful batsman.
S Gore 9 - Man of the match. Superb spell with the ball from the new slimline stump destroyer getting his first ever 6 for. Looked good with the bat before becoming one of three Gricey run out victims. Fielded like a spastic.
J Dickson 5 - Fielded well despite dropping difficult chance. No answer with the bat playing the 39th over out as a maiden.
T Hadgraft 4 - A day to forget. Used sparingly as a bowler, dropped 2 catches and scored 0.
